It’s easy to say you love someone until they hurt you, or do something “ugly”.
A commitment to love is just that – a commitment. It’s not based on feelings, and it’s not based on circumstances. It’s a decision, an act. Genuine, lasting love is not a mindless reaction.
Is there someone in your life today whom you struggle to love? Jesus loved so much it cost Him His life. Ask Him to change your heart, to give you eyes to see others the way He does, to love unconditionally.
This kind of love does not happen by willpower and determination alone. It must be by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s a supernatural kind of love.
John 13:35 tells us that it’s our love for each other that will show the world we are His.
